Overview

Low Cable Crossover is a cable-machine movement for the chest. Set the pulleys to the lowest position, then bring your arms together in front of your chest with a slight bend in the elbows. This pattern places the greatest demand on the chest, with extra emphasis on the upper and inner chest, while the shoulders and triceps assist as secondary muscles.

Form tips & common mistakes

Warm up

Always prepare your body first. Use light cardio and dynamic stretches to warm up your chest muscles and help reduce injury risk.

Choose the right weight

Pick a load that lets you move with control and solid technique. As you get stronger and more comfortable with the movement, raise the weight gradually.

Include the exercise in your chest workout

You can use Low Cable Crossover on its own or as part of a chest session. Pair it with exercises like bench press, push-ups, and dumbbell flys for a more complete chest workout.

Vary your sets and reps

Change your sets and reps to match your goal. For muscle building, use 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps. For muscular endurance, use 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps.

Monitor your form

Keep your technique clean to limit injury risk and get the best results. Hold your chest up, keep your shoulders down, and maintain a slight bend in your elbows through the entire movement.
