How to do it
- 1
Superman is a great exercise for building strength in your core, lower back, glutes, and hamstrings.
- 2
This movement targets the erector spinae muscles, which help support the spine. Strong back muscles can help prevent postural deviations that cause poor posture and discomfort, including kyphosis (“hunchback”). Superman improves posture by extending the back muscles and easing the tension between the lower back and core. It also builds lower back strength, which can make it easier to stay upright during the day.
- 3
It can also support lower back health, since some lower back pain may come from weak glutes and tight hamstrings.
